Meditation has long been paraded as a life-changing habit with numerous benefits for the mind, body and soul. Many well-known celebrities as well as highly successful people stand by meditation, and believe that it offers them something great. With spiritual benefits in its roots in Buddhism and other religions, to psychological and health benefits touted by doctors and psychologists across the world, meditation is a great habit to start implementing.

Meditation is essentially the practice of staying mindful and present for a short period of time. It can be done through various methods, however the simplest is to focus only on breathing and not think about a single thing. Any thought that comes to mind should be dashed and there should be nothing in your head. It sounds incredibly simple, but is easier said than done.

With meditation, the more regular and consistently it is practiced, the greater the benefits that come with it.

Meditation allows your mind to wander less, and decrease fear and stress that serve to distract the mind.

The specific benefits of meditation are well-documented, and include the lowering of anxiety, reduction of blood pressure, better sleep and an increased immunity.

Psychologically, meditation decreased feelings of depression and anxiety, as well as pain related to stress.

Meditation is also practiced by many celebrities and highly successful people.

In 2011, Oprah Winfrey invited several meditation instructors to her production company. These instructors guided staff through meditation in the mornings and after working hours. Oprah herself practices meditation, and believes that achieving peace within ourselves is more important than work.

The benefits of meditation are numerous, whether they be physical or psychological. Many celebrities and highly successful people practice meditation, and it is a good habit to pick up and implement into your life.
