E-liquid or e-juice is the substance injected into a vape devices that provides vapors, its flavor, and nicotine. Using a vape device, a hot element is used to heat the e-juice, changing it into a smooth vapor which is absorbed by the lungs. E-liquid allows vapers to experiment with e-liquid flavors with a choice of nicotine vape juice or nicotine-free strengths.

What is E-Liquid or E-Juice

E-cigarettes aren’t comprised of actual tobacco or other dangerous ingredients like carbon monoxide and tar. E-cigarette uses a liquid solution called vape juice or e-liquid. It is composed of three essential ingredients.

  • Nicotine
  • Flavorings
  • Propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin base, or a mixture of the two

Vape Juice Ingredients

The following are the ingredients of vape juice.

  1. Nicotine

Nicotine is an addictive ingredient present in e-cigarettes and typical cigarettes. It can stimulate your central nervous system, raise blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration. When it moves into your brain, it releases a pleasant feeling and sensation, as dopamine levels maximize. It is important to note that not all products contain a nicotine solution.

The manufacturers tend to provide their products in a different range of nicotine content, ranging from none to 35 milligrams per milliliter and 60mg per milliliter.

  1. Flavorings

Over six thousand flavors are available in vape juices, including coconut, cherry, orange, fresh sweet tarts, cinnamon, apple, and even tobacco. It’s not feasible to list all the materials or chemicals that form the flavors.

Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG)

Vape juice contains propylene glycol and Vegetable Glycerin. From the FDA’s view, Propylene Glycol (PG) is a lab-made liquid safe in food, medications, and cosmetics. People use it to produce artificial fog or smoke for performances. This is what people call the PG base of a nicotine vape juice, and you will often hear these terms in the vaping world.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is a colorless and odorless liquid with a slightly sweet taste. According to FDA, glycerin is safe to use. You can see it in various products, including drugs and food.

Through different people’s experiences, we know that e-liquid or vape juice is safe for most people. This is also called VG, and you will also hear this word a lot in the vaping world alongside PG.

All of these ingredients combine to create nicotine vape juice. When these juices are inserted into a vape device and heated up, they turn to a vapor which can be inhaled. The different ingredients used will determine the flavor profile of the liquid, and subsequently how it will taste and the aroma it will leave behind.

When looking into different e-liquids, it is important to look at the base ingredients that make them up to ensure that the vape juice is right for you. You should be looking at the flavor profile, nicotine content and level, as well as the ratio of PG and VG concentration. All of these things combine to create a solution, and therefore, all aspects need to be looked at when choosing a product to vape.
