Entrepreneurial lessons you can learn from Elon Musk

Elon Musk is a globally celebrated entrepreneur, most well-known for his SpaceX endeavours and Tesla. Musk hasn’t always been rich, and started his career by coming to America for opportunities in study. He started a company with his brother Kimbal, which later sold for a great amount of money, starting off his wealth. He focused on putting his entrepreneurial pursuits towards the Internet, renewable energy and the ability to live outside of Earth. He has stayed true to these pursuits, and has demonstrated lots of entrepreneurial aspects that many aspiring professionals could adhere to.

Here are some entrepreneurial lessons you can learn from Elon Musk.

Persistence

Perhaps the primary trait an entrepreneur should have, persistence is demonstrated throughout Musk’s entire life. Building a rocket than can land itself again, or a purely electronic car to go 0-60 miles per hour in 2.1 seconds, takes serious commitment to all aspects of that in pursuit.

Know what is important to the world

When Musk went to college, he knew what was important for the world. This includes space travel, artificial intelligence and renewable energy. By focusing on what the world actually needs, you are guaranteed to have people to back you up, providing funding and also guaranteed a huge demographic.

Don’t focus on the money

Whilst money is a good motivator for many, it is not a big enough motivator when undertaking an entrepreneurial pursuit. You should be focusing on doing something that is needed and helping the world, and this motivation will keep you going. Musk focuses on changing the world for the better, regardless of the financial rewards.

Elon Musk is a perfect example of a successful entrepreneur, and his story offers many entrepreneurial lessons that can be taken and applied to your own professional situation.
