The world’s biggest football game yet, FIFA 22, is about to make a grand entrance, and excitement is palpable in the air. Gamers are delirious with anticipation as the game prepares to launch. Unfortunately, the Corona Virus pandemic impeded the game, which was initially billed to launch last year. Thankfully, the developers aren’t taking any chances this year as they plan to release the game on October 1st.

While we anticipate this popular EA sports game, we thought it would be nice to give the game’s enthusiasts a lowdown of some things to expect from the new version. That said, let’s get kicking!

How Much will FIFA 22 Cost?

The standard edition of the soon-to-be-released FIFA 22 is priced at £59.99 in the UK and $59.99 in the US. We are glad to see that the game has retained its price from last year (heaves a sigh of relief!). However, the real icing on the cake is that EA plays subscribers who pre-order will get a 10% discount. How delightful!

The standard version of the game aside, EA has also developed unique versions of the game, featuring additional packages such as extra kits, packs, and FIFA Ultimate Team and Volta players. Note that these special editions come at an extra cost. In addition, they are available in hard copy and downloadable versions. On the flip side, the new game comes with an Ultimate edition only as the Champions Edition has been discontinued.

Which Consoles Support the FIFA 22?

FIFA 22 will be available on next-gen consoles, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows. Recall that EA sports signed a Dual Entitlement agreement for FIFA 21 — permitting users to upgrade their PS4 copy of the game to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S at no extra cost. You will be pleased to know that this offer extends to the new FIFA 22. But bear in mind that the Dual Entitlement offer is exclusively available to gamers who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition is currently available for pre-order on all consoles.

When Should I Pre-order the New FIFA 22?

You can pre-order the FIFA 22 right this minute or any time between now and October 1st. Players who pre-order can play the game from September 27th. Plus, pre-ordering comes with many perks; you get a discount, extra game content (including free and loan players in the Ultimate team), Volta content, and additional FUT packs.

What are FIFA 22’s Feature Upgrades?

FIFA 22 is expected to have new features such as :

  • A next-gen, hyper motion gameplay technology
  • Over 4000 new animations
  • Gameplay improvements include Composed Ball Control, Increased Humanisation, and Kinetic Air Battles.
  • Over 100 new icons and new FUT Heroes
  • Upgraded Volta including new players, stadiums, locations, and merchandise
  • And lots more!

Will There be VAR on FIFA 22?

Video Assistant Referee (VAR) is one of the most significant inventions to grace the football industry, and players are rooting for its inclusion in FIFA games. Unfortunately, though VAR was introduced in 2017, it wasn’t featured on FIFA 21, and from all indications, the latest version will maintain the status quo. So let’s not get our hopes too high!
